impact - Youth Prevention Program

Purpose:

impact exists to equip this generation of youth with knowledge, empower them to make healthy choices, and ensure a future of high confidence, self-worth, and the ability to maximize their potential.

About Us:

Everywhere that children are is where Serenity’s impact program wants to be! We currently teach children in schools, recreation centers, after school care programs, juvenile correctional facilities and other sites across numerous counties in the greater Abilene and Wichita Falls areas. Funded by the State of Texas, Serenity’s impact program seeks to prevent future life and behavioral difficulties for the precious children in our communities.

Goals:

  1. Empower students to make healthy choices
  2. Equip students with truth and life-skills
  3. Challenge the media’s influence
  4. Instruct and inform students about the effects of substance abuse
  5. Provide a safe, open, and interactive environment
  6. Encourage students to interact with their school faculty and their community
  7. Provide relevant up-to-date information and statistics

Strategy:

Our facilitators are trained to teach several nationally-approved curriculums, in 30-50 minute lessons. Material is presented in a variety of interactive methods, including hands-on activities, games, props, worksheets and videos, helping students to engage in practiced, permanent and positive behaviors.
